Are you the new Academic Advisor at Stockholm School of Economics?

Academic Support and Records

We are offering you a flexible and challenging role in a dynamic and international environment at one of Europe’s leading business schools. SSE works actively on both internationalization and on broadening our student recruitment, which also means that the role as Academic Advisor will be changing. For that reason, we are in the beginning of an exciting journey where a transformation of the academic support and services is about to take place.

If this sounds appealing to you, please follow the link below and send us your application!

The Role
As an Academic Advisor at SSE, you and your colleague in the Academic Guidance team will offer guidance and support to all students and coordinate the support offered to students with special needs. You will also assist in resolving student-health issues and be the school’s contact point to the Student Health Services. In addition, the role contains administrative tasks related to the area, and involvement in student recruitment activities. Yet another important part of the position is to support your colleagues throughout the academic year’s peak periods.

Is this you?
We are looking for a candidate who has documented experience with academic counseling, preferably from university level studies, and who is looking for a position where he or she will be part of a transformative process. You need to have both the skills and be comfortable with offering qualified guidance in both English and Swedish. In addition to that, you need to be driven, responsible, and careful with details, as well as be responsive and have integrity and well-developed teamwork skills. Since we are in a position where we need to digitalize, you must also have an interest for – and preferably hands-on experience – with digitalization or communication.

It would also be appreciated if you hold a university degree in Study and Career Guidance, have firsthand knowledge in one or more subjects taught at SSE, and have experience from qualified administration within the educational area.

The workload can be very intense from time to time, and for that reason you will also have to be stress tolerant and skilled in prioritizing your own work.

About Office of Academic Support & Records and SSE
Academic Support & Records is one of the Professional Services units at SSE and consists of 9 colleagues who are responsible for the processes concerning degree-handling, coordination of scheduling and system support, and guidance and support to SSE’s 2000 students. The width of ASR’s operations means that everyone working here needs to be both service minded as well as appreciative of supporting colleagues with tasks outside their main responsibilities.
