Project background

This project is a new initiative by the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) and the Daniel Sachs Foundation (DSF) with the long-term ambition to diversify and make the Swedish business sector more inclusive, not least the financial industry. ​​​​It is realized through corporate partnerships with several stakeholders within the financial industry.

The project aims to broaden and diversify higher education recruitment by building and supporting a nation-wide community of business-oriented talents from backgrounds underrepresented in the Swedish business sector and financial industry. The project also aims to increase diversity among the applicants to the degree programs at the Stockholm School of Economics.

 

The role

In this newly formed role, you will set up and manage this new and important project. Your main responsibility will be to build networks, develop initiatives and explore opportunities as well as to implement ideas on how to increase diversity among our applicants.

This is an independent role, where you will be the one both managing and operatively driving the project. You will work towards a steering committee with representatives from SSE, DSF and external stakeholders, as well as towards the talent community you build. This role is a part of the Program Marketing Team at SSE.

 

Work responsibilities

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Initiate and manage the project
  • Build an active community of business-oriented talents aged 15-20 from backgrounds underrepresented in the business sector and financial industry
  • Develop, plan and execute community activities that inspire and raise interest in university studies in the field of economy and business
  • Create and maintain partnerships with industry stakeholders, civil society organizations and schools to make the project impactful
  • Develop metrics, measure and evaluate community activities to plan for the second phase of the project

 

Your profile

We are looking for a high-energy people-person, who is passionate about expanding opportunities for young people. You enjoy working both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment. You are creative and have the ability to develop new ideas and initiatives and turn them into practice. Furthermore, we believe you are a self-starter who is used to working in diverse environments. You are empathetic and have the ability to see things from another person's perspective. You make the ones you interact with feel at ease and comfortable also in new and unknown environments.

Requirements:

  • Experience from project management, preferably both strategic and operative roles.
  • Experience from working with youth and socially disadvantaged groups.
  • Experience from working with stakeholders in cross-sectoral collaborations.
  • Knowledge about and interest in the Swedish business sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Swedish. As English is SSE’s corporate language, English skills are also important. Oral and written communication skills in other languages are also beneficial.
  • Previous experience in managing social media and events is beneficial.
  • Personal networks and relationships with organizations and movements working with issues related to diversity and inclusion is beneficial

This is a full-time, time-limited employment for approximately one year. The position may be prolonged. The project is long-term and will most likely continue for more than one year.  Please include your desired salary in your application.
