BSc Admissions and Info Center Service Specialist

Education Office

The Education Office (EdO) is one of the Professional Services units at SSE. We are currently 57 staff members working in EdO. We function as a hub in the SSE journey. We provide and develop professional academic support for all stakeholders and students (BSc, MSc, PhD) during their SSE journey. It includes assessment, program management, scholarships, international collaborations, and quality measurements, academic support, central course and exam coordination, degrees, and certificates.

The role

We are looking for a professional who can split their time between BSc admissions (50%) and providing service at our Info Center (50%). This role is a combination of assignments, including coordinating the application and admissions processes for our BSc programs and developing our internal and external services at the Info Center. You will be an important part of strengthening the brand of the Stockholm School of Economics.

BSc Admissions responsibilities:

  • Managing, processing, and assessing the BSc applications in the international application round, the quotas alternative selection and special merits.
  • Supporting and guiding prospective students enquiring about the school, programs, and the application process.
  • Assessing and converting foreign transcripts.
  • Participating in the recruitment and retention processes.
  • Participating actively in the selection process of the candidates for the programs (assessing applications, evaluating interviews).

Info Center Service Specialist responsibilities:

  • Providing world-class service to students and visitors through our Info Center.
  • Handling and administering questions and guiding customers through various channels.
  • Welcoming and providing practical help to customers.
  • Continuously updating our knowledge management system in dialogue with different units and stakeholders.
  • Being the first point of contact for customers, referring students to appropriate contacts within the organization, and issuing certificates.
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient process for students residing in student rooms and apartments

Qualifications

You are a proactive, flexible professional with a strong customer focus and passion for providing excellent service. You work well both independently and with others and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and you are comfortable handling challenging situations. Exceptional attention to detail is essential for this role. 

Requirements:

  • Experience in customer service and being first-line support.
  • Oral and written fluency in English and Swedish.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications, such as Office 365. 
  • Experience and interest in digital ways of working and how technology can enhance customer service.

Meritorious:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a higher-education environment.
  • An academic education.
  • Experience from having lived abroad or working in a foreign academic institution.
  • Proficient in Excel with advanced skills.
  • Curiosity about how AI and digital methods can optimize work processes.
  • Experience working in environments similar to the SSE Info Center or hotel reception.
  • Any additional language is an advantage.

Terms

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of extension. Preferred starting date is as soon as possible, considering any period of notice. We encourage you to apply promptly as we are actively reviewing applications on an ongoing basis.
