Business Controller to Stockholm School of Economics

Group Finance

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the business, be part of an exciting growth journey, and be a member of both the management team for SSE Executive Education and Group Finance, the corporate finance function. You will be a key player in the business, driving critical initiatives and improving financial results.

About the Role

You will collaborate closely with the CEO of SSE Executive Education, acting as a sounding board and setting requirements to support the development and profitability of the company’s four business areas. You are comfortable switching between strategic and operational work—whether it's working towards ambitious growth targets or ensuring the day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Your responsibilities as a Business Controller will include:

  • Monitoring results and conducting in-depth analysis to drive and optimize the company's performance and profitability.
  • Proactively driving the development and improvement of financial processes and systems, working closely with the business to ensure that routines are followed up and developed.
  • Providing operational business support, such as contributing to negotiations on business and supplier agreements, ensuring accurate provisions and accruals, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Developing reporting and analysis models that support the business.
  • Calculating and following up on programs/projects, pricing strategies, and key performance indicators.
  • Participating in the year-end closing process and audit.
  • Taking responsibility for the process of establishing budgets and forecasts for the entire group, in collaboration with three Controllers in Group Finance.

You will have a close working relationship with the CEO of SSE Executive Education and will formally report to the CFO of the Stockholm School of Economics.

Your workplace will be located at the Stockholm School of Economics in central Stockholm.

You have experience in working proactively with analysis and follow-up in close collaboration with business managers in profit-driven operations. Your interest and experience in system implementation and BI tools are advantageous, as a system change is underway. You have the ability and likely experience in leading change projects.
