We offer

A central and independent role within the Stakeholder Events team. You will collaborate with various departments, including the Info Center, President’s Office, and other SSE departments. The position involves a mix of early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, providing a dynamic and varied work schedule. In this role, you will both drive and execute, establishing routines and processes, and developing your work as you go.

About the role

As the Catering Manager, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Project managing and coordinating all catering-related tasks to ensure cost-effectiveness and synergy.
  • Setting up tables, serving guests, and managing post-event clean-up.
  • Negotiating with suppliers.
  • Hiring and managing service staff as needed.
  • Purchasing wines and other beverages, ensuring compliance with alcohol serving laws.
  • Creating and refining processes to ensure sustainability and efficiency.
  • Handling various event-related tasks to streamline the event process.
  • Overseeing the Heckscher-Ohlin room, ensuring it is well-maintained and stocked with necessary inventory.

During quieter periods, you will:

  • Support the Stakeholder Events team with various tasks.
  • Assist the President’s Office and Info Center, including supporting administrative tasks.
  • Plan for upcoming events and participate in general event planning.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is service-minded, flexible, and skilled at building relationships. You should be capable of handling multiple projects independently and simultaneously. Being structured with excellent prioritization skills is essential. You must be detail-oriented, ensuring events are aesthetically pleasing and professionally executed.

  • A few years of relevant work experience, preferably in the restaurant industry, with an understanding of service.
  • Willingness to work some mornings, evenings, and a few weekends.
  • Fluency in both English and Swedish.
  • Experience in handling administrative tasks.
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers and previous experience in catering is a plus.

This is a new role for approximately a year to start with. Background checks will be conducted on the final candidates.

Due to summer vacation, we will start reviewing applications and answer potential questions from August 19, 2024.
