Post-Doc Opportunities at the House of Innovation, Stockholm School of Economics

Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology

We’re looking for two postdoc scholars to join the House of Innovation for two years with a strong focus on research in collaboration with a dynamic team. The positions will be at the heart of growing research programs on artificial intelligence technologies, the future of work, and digital innovation working with Elmira van den Broek, Anna Essén, Stefan Haefliger, Bomi Kim, Sebastian Krakowski, and Magnus Mähring. The positions come with an option to teach and strong support to publish existing research from the PhD.

The successful candidates have built a research agenda during their PhD and are keen to develop new datasets and extend methodological and theoretical expertise. The general disciplinary background should be IS, innovation, OT or strategy with a strong interest in technology and ambition to publish on the highest levels in information systems, management and organization science. The research programs center on critical questions such as the factors driving the adoption and effective utilization of AI in organizations and the influence of AI on work and ethical values. Inquiry into human-machine interfaces and innovation processes involving collaborative practices across organizations as well as leadership topics fall under the program on the future of work.

A background with experience in either quantitative methods or qualitative methods is welcome. For the quantitative track, we are looking for candidates with experience in econometrics (e.g., panel regression, logistic regression) and/or machine learning (e.g., natural language processing, topic modelling). For the qualitative track, we are interested in candidates with experience in research methods such as ethnography, interviews, and observations. This role is ideal for candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to our understanding of human-AI interaction, evolving work practices, organizational structures, and business models, and exploring the wider societal repercussions through a blend of conceptual, theoretical, and empirical approaches.

The postdoc positions are part of the Wallenberg Digital Innovation Program at the Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, a joint research environment between Gothenburg University, Umeå University, and Stockholm School of Economics. The applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent and show an ability and aspiration to publish manuscripts in the top journals of our field. Priority will be given to candidates with research relevant to the topics above and the applicant must have professional proficiency in English (written and spoken). We expect the candidates to relocate to Stockholm.
