Research Assistant at the Department of Economics

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics is announcing a full time combined position as Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant.

About the position

The position is of limited duration – starting on August 12, 2019 and lasting until next summer, at longest to July 31, 2020. It is a full time position and we offer 22 000 SEK as monthly wage.

One part of your tasks will be to assist faculty in research related tasks. This can for example consist of preparing data sets, running regressions, help in making figures or surveying parts of a literature.

Another part of your tasks will be to act as seminar teacher on courses during the academic year, not more than one course per quarter.

You will be offered an office and be part of the research environment at the department. The position is of clear interest for someone who is looking to apply to PhD programs as both the skills developed and the potential references may be attractive. It will also be attractive as an intermediate step for other careers.

Your profile

You have an interest in research and some familiarity with statistical programs, in particular with STATA. You have at least a Bachelor’s degree by the time that the position starts but more advanced studies are a merit. Some knowledge of Swedish is also a merit but not an absolute requirement.

Application

The application should include a record of courses taken and grades, the most advanced academic paper you have written and a short letter of motivation.

We look forward to receiving your application.
