Would you like to work as an exam invigilator for the Stockholm School of Economics?

Education Office

The Education Office (EdO) is one of SSE’s Professional Services units and consists of around 58 colleagues. As a central part of the SSE journey, we support and develop key academic services for students and stakeholders across our BSc, MSc, and PhD programs. Our work spans assessment, program management, scholarships, international collaborations, academic support, central course and exam coordination, as well as degrees and certificates.

The Examinations Office at the Stockholm School of Economics is looking for reliable exam invigilators to support the administration of examinations throughout the academic year.

Each year, we organize more than 300 examinations. As an invigilator, you play an important role in ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly, securely, and according to university regulations.

The Role

As an exam invigilator, you will:

  • Supervise students during examinations
  • Verify student identities and follow examination procedures
  • Assist with examination administration before, during, and after exams
  • Help maintain a calm, professional, and secure examination environment
  • Assist students with basic technical issues during digital examinations

Examinations take place during scheduled examination periods throughout the year, primarily in October, December/January, March, May/June, and August. Schedules are provided well in advance.

Who We Are Looking For

This role is well suited to someone who is dependable, attentive to detail, and comfortable working within established procedures.

We are particularly looking for people who:

  • Are reliable and committed to the shifts they accept
  • Have good availability during examination periods
  • Have a timely manner
  • Are organized and well prepared
  • Follow instructions and procedures accurately
  • Remain calm and professional in a structured environment
  • Communicate clearly in English
  • Are comfortable using computers and assisting with basic technical issues
  • Are confident enforcing examination rules when required

Please note that examinations are primarily scheduled during daytime hours on weekdays. Applicants should therefore have regular availability during these periods and be able to commit to the shifts they accept.

Previous experience is not required, and full training will be provided.

What we offer

  • Paid hourly employment
  • Training and ongoing support
  • Work that contributes directly to the integrity and fairness of examinations
  • A professional and welcoming team environment

We offer you the opportunity to work alongside a great group of exam invigilators, with one of Stockholm School of Economics' most important tasks.  As an exam invigilator you receive what is called an “intermittent employment”. This means that you are employed when needed and that you receive payment per hour. The hourly salary is a fixed and equal amount for all exam invigilators. Because the work is need based, the number of work hours varies for each invigilator depending on the hours available.

Application

Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis, and we encourage interested candidates to apply as soon as possible. The next training and onboarding session for new invigilators will take place in early August.

Please submit your application through the recruitment system, including your CV and a short introduction outlining your interest in the role and your availability during examination periods.

Please note that we are recruiting a limited number of new invigilators for the upcoming training and onboarding session. As the need for invigilators varies throughout the year, applications may also be considered for future recruitment rounds.
